Steve Hooper is CEO/President and co-founder of EnviraCarbon, Inc. He has owned and operated businesses pertaining to both mining, and manufacturing for fifty years. From the early 1980s into the 2000s he served as CEO of Bituminous Consulting Services (BCS); a full-service coal management company. In the late 1970s and early 1980s, BCS entered an agreement with Energy Resources Company to oversee the acquisition and development of coal mines in multiple locations in the United States and Indonesia. Mr. Hooper invented a GPS based triangulation system that automates the alignment of underground mining equipment. That technology was sold and is still in use today. Across five decades he has invented and or co-invented other products and technologies, as well as financed and/or developed numerous other businesses.

From the early 1970s through the “Coal Boom,” Steve Hooper served as the President of Natural Resources Company overseeing coal operations in Tennessee and Alabama. He also served as Vice-President of North American Fuels Company, a coal brokerage and export company, during that time.

Over the span of five decades his business experience includes oversight of hundreds of employees, as well as the operation of up to twenty-two mines/loading facilities at once. He has owned and/or managed over 350,000 fee and leased acres from the mountains of Kentucky and West Virginia, to Alabama and the jungles of Borneo.

He has been responsible for contour surface, mountaintop removal, continuous underground and high wall mining operations. He has owned and/or operated coal processing and loading facilities and is expert in material transportation. Steve has negotiated millions of tons of coal supply contracts, both with domestic and foreign users.

Mr. Hooper has never stopped inventing. He, his family, and business friends continue to forge forward into the uncharted waters of wood-based carbon products, where they have developed numerous innovative patented processes and products.

Now to the next frontier, graphene, the holy grail of super-conductors. With an impressive new 25,000 square foot, state-of the-art R & D facility in beautiful Wise, Virginia, and in collaboration with Virginia Tech, Mr. Hooper is poised to lead The EnviraCarbon Companies into the high-tech universe of graphene in aero-space, high-speed information, and beyond.
