Carbon Research and Development Company (CRDC) will soon produce commercial-grade graphene (Xphene) for composites and other uses at its Graphene Research Center in Wise Virginia. Unlike other graphene producers who use graphite as the source feedstock, CRDC’s process converts wood into graphene and sophisticated carbons. This proprietary process results in a substantial cost reduction when compared to other manufacturers. Because CRDC’s unique process actually sequesters Carbon Dioxide it ensures that its graphene production will maintain a net negative carbon footprint and be gentle to our planet.
Our uniqueness does not end there. With both full on-site graphene and compounding laboratories CRDC is in the distinctive position to not only supply graphene but to help you develop composites that really benefit from the addition of this phenomenal material. Whether the addition of graphene is to strengthen, make lighter, make more elastic, make more conductive or to make more durable your current product, we can help. Carbon Research and Development Company (CRDC) owns various patented and proprietary processes principally for the making of sophisticated carbons. Quietly over the last five years it has advanced its carbon technology to able to produce commercial-grade graphene. Unlike other graphene producers who use graphite as the source feedstock, CRDC’s process converts coal and/or wood chips into specialty carbons and graphene. This unique process results in a drastic cost reduction.
